About Batik
Batik (buu-teek) is an art form I've been exploring for years and am very excited to share my work. My inspiration was a batik bandana made in the 70's given to me by my mother. The multistep process produces unique art every time. Batik originated over 2000 years ago in Southeast Asia using a wax resist and a cold water dye bath. The crackle effect of the wax gives batik it's distinctive beauty.
